The Artist - Glenn Cottier
Glenn Cottier lives in Kilmore and has undertaken an intensive project of recording significant heritage buildings utilising his eye for light and architectural detail and finished in his unique watercolour pencil technique.
Glenn attended Assumption College Kilmore and later studied Visual Arts at the Northern Metropolitan Institute of TAFE. His early works concentrated on an automotive theme, but later his folio has moved more into the area of heritage studies.
In 1998, Glenn was awarded the George Hudson Memorial Trophy by the Kilmore Mechanics Institute and Free Library. The award enabled him to develop a comprehensive folio of local heritage buildings and sites.
Glenn was commissioned by Mitchell Shire Council to produce an initial six watercolour pencil sketches of significant sites throughout the Shire as an integral part of Council’s commitment to visually preserve the heritage of the area. Glenn has also undertaken private commissions.
